look no thermal bibtights or jacket - riding in almeria really is great!
february - finalised rides for april - links available on rides page.
january II - had delivery of 2012 bici-almeria kit, very pleased with the look - we will be very pro looking on the road in april. a few of the group have had theirs and are happy with look and fit!
happy new year!
january - just back from christmas trip to sunny, warm almeria. managed to get a couple of decent rides in - the alto de chive climb from the better northern side is a certainty for the april group, 6km at a steady gradient on a newly surfaced road. also drove to the base of the calar alto climb and found what will be an exhillarating descent back down to start point, through pine forests and magnificent views of the snow capped sierra nevada and bone dry desierto de tabernas. weather was fantastic, barely a cloud in the sky, 20-22C and a bit cold at night but if you are a stargazer it was sensational!
also really pleased to see calar alto featured among europe's 50 greatest cycling climbs in the new book mountain high
after a ride, relax on the terrace in warm december sun with book and cuppa!
november - last week's trip was great as usual - weather fab and got a few kms in checking out the ride to vilaricos, not sure that we will use it as i think the mojacar to carboneras coast road is more fun! put together a link route from agua amarga to penas negra that avoids using any main road at all - very pleased with that
october - flying out tomorrow for half term holiday, going to check out a new coast ride to san juan de terreros and villaricos, plus a few new little link roads in the sierra cabrera and around gergal. Weather looks good for relaxing and riding!
during my june trip I went out checking out new routes for next year. found another great little climb to a remote village called el chive - certain to be used in 2012. august was just too hot to even think about getting out on the bike, but in october I am going to have a look at a tasty looking route in the north of the province.
